Hi GMC
For some time I have been working on "always with me......" It was reading Phil’s topc that made me want to. I stopped "Shunk Funk" lesson because the large movements give me pain in my right arm. My shock wave treatment is almost complete, I’ll resume as soon as possible. Jo SATRIANI is my favorite guitarist since I was 15 years old. I tried to learn this song 10 years ago but it was too difficult. Today, I have facilities to play thanks to the work I did every day on GMC. This is my first one shot. I still have a lot of work to do. I’m quite happy because I’m starting to understand the legato placement. Apart from the precision, the first is almost good because the second is still wobbly. I share my files for all guitarist want to learn it. - Original Youtube lesson - My playlist cut in Lesson 14 PART . - Backing track - Tab improve by Benjamin (Right click and "save as" if the site gives you an error) My own self-criticism. Precipitation on the beat / Accent to be improved / Stray noise / Ghost notes / bend release / Legato / Slide / Vibrato This post has been edited by Manu RASSE: Oct 16 2022, 09:58 AM |

That's brilliant Manu. I still can't get the legato part down.

Hi Phil
Thank you. To improve this part - I suggest you work on "Ben's band of legato". To progress you must position the left hand perpendicular to the neck. About always with me... I share my files. Maybe it help you ? I work with this Youtube lesson. The problem is that the guy talks too much. I cut out the ten old parts like GMC lessons. It lacks the very slow side but just slow down the speed in youtube parameter. Here my playlist : Lesson 10 PART . You can download on my Google Drive : Backing track : https://drive.google.com/file/d/1ju1_K4lem6...iew?usp=sharing Tab : https://drive.google.com/file/d/1wzF1-j8yaT...iew?usp=sharing (Video lesson is different about legato part - Video Better for me) Have a nice day. Thank you Phil You’ll see if it’s the same as mine That Shut Up & Play Link has three videos, two of them talk you through slowly showing how to play the song, it's not exactly line Joe's version but when listening nobody would tell. I just tabbed out this in the last 1½ hour in Guitar Pro 8. I know it sounds a bit arrogant, but I think it's as easy to read and closer to a precise tab than I have otherwise seen. The ones I have seen have all had the snare-clap reversed compared to the studio version.
Tab will be uploaded to Ultimate-Guitar too. (Right click and "save as" if the site gives you an error) Joe_Satriani___Always_With_Me_Always_With_You_GP8_v2.gp ( 85.07K ) Number of downloads: 250 This post has been edited by Storm Linnebjerg: Oct 15 2022, 09:37 PM |

On second thought: These are just my opinion by the way, and I think Satch plays the song more quiet in the real version.

Ah, I have to install GP6 again and make sure it looks okay. It'll be here in maybe half an hour
I also made a little quick video about playing a melody from tablature/sheet: I will upload the file as soon as I can. I cannot get the file to look nice in Guitar Pro 6 (I was never a fan of 6, so I don't know how to make it look nice). It looks messy and not very nice So I have tried another thing: PDF made with GP8: Joe_Satriani___Always_with_Me__Always_with_You.pdf ( 190.74K ) Number of downloads: 235 MP3 made with GP8: Joe_Satriani___Always_With_Me_Always_With_You_GP8_v2.mp3 ( 5.41MB ) Number of downloads: 255 This post has been edited by Storm Linnebjerg: Oct 16 2022, 07:53 AM |
