btw: i got another noob question what does it mean when people say they will mod an amp ?? or that an amp is modded? To mod an amp is to rebuild it in some way. A couple of examples could be: * To add an effects loop * Exchange some inner electric parts to alter the amp's character * Add an extra channel * Add a channel volume -------------------- My bands homepage

Yeah it can, Triviums first two albums were recorded with a DSL2000 I have to say that I don't know what Trivium did in the studio, but today almost every production uses more than just one amp, normally you get a good guitar sound by mixing several different amps. So only because Trivium use that amp on stage doesn't mean that they used it (and only that one) for the album. The amp itself is not bad in my opinion, but I would definitely add a good distortion pedal to get a good high gain sound. -------------------- Guitars: various Gibson Les Pauls / Gibson J 45

Have you tried the amp out? It should be a nice one, but really depends in which condition is it...And yes it should do metal, just try it out and see if you like how it sounds. Remember to bring your own guitar to the testing...

I've heard JCM2000 50W and 100W heads are very decent workhorses, you should definitely try it tho before you buy.
