Hey
Just wondering what you guys play when unexpectedly you find yourself away from home with no gear, drums, PC or amplifier and someone ask you to play a tune or something because there's a guitar around.
I guess it would not be a problem for the instructors so this question is more oriented to beginners intermediate like me.
It would be nice to have some lessons without backing instruments kind of: "how to get away with murder in this situation" laugh.gif I know we have classical/acoustic ones but..... it's just not me wink.gif

I never really use backing tracks, i just do my own thing. try playing some lessons without backing, it still sounds fine.

You can check out some of my blues lessons, you don't even need a pick for that. Learn some vocal lines on top of it, and you will be an instant bluesman smile.gif

Well in most cases, not all, it's usually an acoustic folks have lying around, so I'd suggest maybe learning some good as I call them "sing-along" songs as I find most people want to hear something familiar when they ask someone to play. (again not in all cases)

here are a few I usually pull out, but it really depends on who's asking me to play.

Oasis - Wonderwall
Smashing Pumpkins - Disarm
Led Zeppelin - Over the Hills and Far Away, Ramble On
Foo Fighters - Everlong, My hero, Times Like these
Tom Petty - Y'er so Bad, Mary Janes last dance, Walls
Johnny Cash, Hurt, Personal Jesus, One, Ring of Fire, Rusty Cage
Soundgarden - Spoonman
CCR - Bad Moon on the Rise, Cottonfields
Nirvana - Where did you sleep last night, Lake of Fire, About a Girl
RHCP - I could have lied, Soul to Squeeze

I hope this is what you where looking for, I may have misunderstood what you were asking as I'm on a lot of flu meds at the moment and my powers of observation are a bit messed up smile.gif If it is though I can suggest a few more songs if you'd like.

You could ask them what they wanna hear, or you could improvise.
I usually just improvise riffs, and throw in little solos here in there. Sometimes its good, sometimes its not. But people always enjoy it either way. Also, sometimes i will play lessons from GMC.
