are there any opeth fans here

if so .....take blackwater park for instance
in the beginning of this song and many other opeth songs ......i don know if its a sustainer, ebow, keyboard
but how do they play those notes that seem to ring like a note being player by an violin bow
the note is played and for 4 bars it seems to sustain the entire length.

ive tried to get a guitar with a fernandes sustainer......but cant find one

any help on this would be appreciated

I believe Opeth used an ebow for that and a couple more songs from the album.

If it sounds and sustains like a violin, it is probably ebow

I'm sure I read somewhere that they had been experimenting with an e-bow.

If you want a Fernandes Sustainer you can buy the pick-up and install it yourself or have it installed. For some reason Guitars with them fitted don't come on the market that often!

I'm pretty sure they often use E-Bows. It's the only device thats able to make sounds like that with ease.

A Fernandes sustainer wont get you the same type of sound.
