There are tons of different software packages for recording, but it depends on what you want to do. Audacity is a great, FREE program that can record multiple tracks. I also know a lot of folks are partial to Reaper...

There are famous and not free ones like Pro tools (must buy software for it), cubase, logic pro (mac only), cakewalk, reason, sonar, adobe audition. And there are some freeware I think the reaper is free.

Apologies I'm in a rush - limited time as I have a plane to catch, literally. Reaper is a great progamme. It is however shareware and NOT free but is unlimited/uncrippled for your evaluation. Should you choose to use it then it is onl @ 50USD for a single user personal license.

Cheers mate smile.gif . Can you tell them to turn the sun on in the uk for me wink.gif

Audacity btw - great piece of software that it is is more about audio manipulation/editing rather than recording - ie it's what you do after you have the recorded wave. Reaper is for recording the wave.

So with this Reaper program...or any other ones for that matter...would I plug my Pod 2.0 into my PC with the MIDI/USB cable, and hear the guitar over my computer speakers, while it is recording in the program onto my computer?

Reaper is free, and good for first use. Also there are a lot more interesting software if you have the money. Industry standard are Steinberg DAW's (CUbase and Nuendo), and for Mac ProTools. Also with a lot of audio hardware you will get bundled lite versions if this software.

Im reall thinking about getting Cubase, my peice of crap Cakewalk software is just getting annoying.

Right now I use Guitar Tracks Pro 3 after I saw someone using it, it was ny first "good" (use that loosely) software and I wasted 99USD on it, needless to say I'm pretty angry.

SO can anyone tell me a bit more about Cubase.
