Hi

I was browsing finn.no (norwegian site in the style of ebay) for some used guitars, and found an Edwards E-CY-165. It`s licenced to ESP, and the dude who sells claims it`s a much higher end guitar than LTD (but not as high as the original ESP ofc). He also says they`re only available for sale in Japan and Russia.

Link to the add: http://www.finn.no/finn/bap/object?finnkode=20329862

I think it looks like an exciting guitar, but I`m wondering if anyone has ever tried one smile.gif ?
It`s rigged with both org. FR and Seymour duncan pups, so I presume it can`t be that bad of quality since they`ve spent some proper hardware on it

Edwards is indeed a company related to ESP. They do cheaper versions of ESP guitars just like LTD although the Edwards guitars are made of a higher quality than most LTDs - but not as good as the actual ESP models!

Edwards guitars are not sold outside of Japan because a lot of the Edwards models are lawsuit copyright-guitars like the Fender Strat shape or the Gibson Explorer or Les Paul shape. The copyright prohibits these guitars to be sold in stores outside of Japan.

No I haven't tried any, they aren't too common arround here and you can't just go to a shop to try them out...
Also with shipping from Japan and taxes they come out as expensive as a real ESP so why bother getting an Edwards guitar? Only if you want a specific model or get a good deal on it, otherwise go for a real ESP

The guitar is already in Norway so shipping aint much and I don`t have to pay VAT, therefore the interest wink.gif

The price for the guitar without VAT is 686€/970$, though I can always bid lower and see if he`s desperate.

I`m in the middle of an amp-purchase, so I can`t afford the full price, but I will make a bid and see what happens smile.gif

I think it looks great, but I also think you should try it out if you can. No point spending 600e on guitar if it arrives and you are not satisfied with it completely wink.gif

I love the one ESP James Hetfield uses. The Les Paul one. I didn't know it was an ESP
