Maybe either Blackstar since it sounds a little bit processed tone anyway (in a good way).
For more true tube tone I'd chose the Lionheart or TT or the tiny Laney. -------------------- My bands homepage

Hmmm maybe that Laney can be an interesting choice. Generally what you need for POD is an amp with a very clean sound. It will allow you to reproduce the processed sound well. Using multieffects unit can be ok if you just use it to emulate stomp boxes (distortion, delay, chorus etc) and switch of the amp/cab modeling.

I would say Blackstar HT5 seems like a nice choice. It have decent clean tone (although not loud for rehearsals), and there is FX Loop for experimenting. Ideally, you should use effects from POD only with FX loop, and not amp simulators. This way the sound will be better.
If you want to use amp simulations on it, it would be good to turn off cab simulator, and only use amp simulator. -------------------- - Ivan's Video Chat Lesson Notes HERE

I believe there were certain amps built specifically for the pods, I believe their brand was Atomic, they are like cabinets that provide a good sound for amp simulation.

I suspect you need the powered one, but as I'm not 100% sure I'd drop them a line:

Never thought of that, turning of the amp simulation and just using the stomp modellers I do like the laney LH alot That's how I generally use my pod in rehearsals or live. I bypass the amp + cabinet section and use is as a multifx. It works good in this way. You can use the 4 cables technique to put some process in front the amp and some effects in the loop. I've never tried Atomic Amps but they seem to be the best option to monitor amp emulators. -------------------- My lessons
