I would go for the Toneport UX2. It also has phantom power. The thing you get with Toneport is Gearbox - free modelling software that works really well for laying down track fast. ALso a large internet database of patches and new versions. Gearbox not only has modelling for guitar, but for vocal and bass too. Very useful.
Be aware that although it has 4 inputs, you can only record two simultaneosly, but I don't think this is a downside at all if you don't need any. In most situations you don't need more than 2 inputs unless you works semipro at home. Also it supports 48000/24bit max. That should be enough for a couple more years. -------------------- - Ivan's Video Chat Lesson Notes HERE

Just to be different I'd go with the Lexicon - which I think also comes with software versions of Lexicon reverbs . I've not used either the Lexicon or the toneport but the DBX preamp is a good one and would partner the Rode nicely. Add in the freebe Cubase LE as sequencer and you'd have a nice DAW.

Lexicon in the end can be better quality device , but I think toneport ux2 would suit your needs better and would be easier to use (and produce good quality results maybe better than with lexicon)..Its just easy to dial in a lot of different tones and everything..
