...also classical piano music. Now, that in itself is less strange, but lately my interest has wandered off to lesser known composers, rather than the more famous ones in Chopin, Bach, Beethoven and so on, and this channel has some great ones: https://www.youtube.com/c/Gamma1734/videos
Some of the Russian composers are really great, even if it's waltz and foxtrots, which is something I never thought I'd venture into. Yuri Slonov has some very melancholic and nostalgic pieces that send me longing for different times: What is something that might surprise people that you listen to?

A lot of 80s bands were seen much like the boy bands of the 90s/2000s in their day, due to the image side of things but there is some great musicianship and songwriting. Duran Duran still being a going concern who are still creating new music.
Guitar-wise Andy Taylor was pretty good, when he left to do Powerstation , Warren Cuccurullo came in and he was an amazing guitarist. Now I believe I read Graham Coxon from Blur is playing with them. -------------------- My SoundCloud

Ben
I find a lot of classical music is great for when I'm reading, although it often distracts me and I have to re-read whole pages when my ear catches something. I also think it helps to give my central nervous system a break from rock music etc. More modern composers like Einaudi who is very mainstream have influenced my fingerstyle acoustic playing. Bach is great for the mandolin, and I'm slowly working on some of his pieces. As for something I listen to that might suprise people hmm (apart from Brazilian Sertanejo) -------------------- My SoundCloud

This thread is full of inspiring music! Most of this stuff is unknown for me, so I have a lot of new music to listen this week.
When I want to calm down my mind, I like listening to Post-Rock. -------------------- My lessons
