Try to test between each change if you have the patience, that's the only way of finding out which thing fixed the computer wink.gif

No patient here! laugh.gif

I think that it's smoother to open it, clean everything, move the mother to the new cpu and the new power supply.

I know what you mean but, the best results and the most knowledge comes from not rushing. In engineering we always change one thing at a time. If you change more than one thing, you never really know which thing fixed it so if you have the problem again you'll know exactly where to go.

It's your call buddy, what do you mean "move the mother to the new cpu" do you mean put the new CPU on the old motherboard?

Out of interest, which CPU are you removing and what are you replacing it with?

For your information https://artoftroubleshooting.com/2012/01/10...just-one-thing/ tongue.gif tongue.gif tongue.gif tongue.gif

I hope it gets sorted buddy.

Take care.

Stay safe.

my power supply threw sparks and made a loud crackling sound, then my whole computer shut off, i replaced it, guess i should have cleaned it sooner, was your fan on your power supply spinning?

GOOD NEWS!

First we cleaned Micro's cooler and added Silicone grease. This was really needed but it didn't solve the issue.

Then we changed CPU and Power Supply and now everything seems to be working normally! When doing the switch, we cleaned parts and cooler.

There were many things that needed maintenance as I use this one a lot. It's not a modern machine but it does its work by now.

Thanks everybody for the help!! Now I'm back!
