Let’s wrap up our look at some of the “Best” Pro Guitars of 2021. As we have talked about, “Best” is not a great term to use when trying to quantify things that are subjective. Still, it sure sounds better in a title than “not bad” or “really quite impressive” guitars. So let’s jump in.
8.)EPIPHONE INSPIRED BY THE GIBSON ES-339. This is the second ES style guitar in this roundup. The big difference is that the other one is a Yamaha build and this one is actually built by Gibson. Best of all, it’s way less money than the Yamaha. For a meager $500 you can have this beauty. She has a maple body and neck at 24.75 scale with a rosewood fretboard featuring 22 medium jumbo frets. The pups are epiphone alnico classic pro. You get the typical controls and a tunomatic bridge. It comes in a variety of colors and has massive tone due to it’s large chambered body.  9.)FENDER 75th ANNIVERSARY TELE For only $895 you can get this Anniversary tele. They have been building these for 75 years now. It features an Alder body and maple neck at 25.5 scale with 22 medium jumbo frets. The pickups are vintage 50s single and a tele single in the neck. You get the standard controls and hardware. Not much has changed out this guy in nearly a century. It doesn’t get much more classic or traditional than this folks. It does have a modern C profile neck, which may be a pro or con depending on the buyer. It’s packed with history and twang!!  10.)D’ANGELICO EXCEL SS For $2,000, this beauty can be yours. She has a flame maple top/body with maple neck at 25.5 scale with 22 medium jumbo frets. The fretboard is Pau Ferro. The pups are USA Seymour Duncan 59 humbuckers. The controls are typical but ad a push pull knob for coil tapping the bridge pup. This jazz brand cam back in 2011 with several Korean builds. The cheaper prices of these got the brand back on it’s feet. This hollow body has a huge sound and it has modern features like coil tapping. It’s not a USA guitar, but it’s a great looking axe from a solid builder.  11.)REVEREND DOUBLE AGENT She costs $900 and has a korina body with maple neck at 25.5 scale. The fretboard is pau ferro/roasted maple and has 22 medium jumbo frets. There is a HA5 bridge pup and 9a5 neck pup. Controls are volume/tone/bass contour and a 3 way switch. This guitar has been described as the “Love Child” between a les paul and a strat. It’s a korean build and features a treble bleed circuit to keep your tone crisp when you roll off the volume. It’s the only guitar in this roundup made from the rare wood KORINA (White Limba). This is a new take on a classic idea.  12.)GRETCH ELECTROMATIC G5622RT For $800 you can get a Gretch! She has a maple body and neck at 24.6 scale with a laurel fingerboard and 22 medium jumbo frets. The pups are proprietary and controls are standard. She comes in a wide choice of paint.
