yeah, that sounds like something else messed up your system. System restore should help.

Hmm check out volume control settings in your PC's taskbar..Check in options settings for recording too and see if proper source is selected.Also check if some channels are muted or something...Check in the Reaper your sound source device etc..I'm sure you can fix it all..

Well what did you do mate? What sound card do you use? Try to restart PC, and check if your sound card is selected in control panel. Also check if it is selected in DAW. Also, sometimes if you keep several applications that use the same hardware (like sound card for example), not all programs will work properly.
