I recently purchased a new guitar. It is a replica of John Mayer's #1 guitar "The Black One". If you've seen John play much, you've probably seen him use The Black One. Through a mutual friend, I contacted a guy who makes replica's of them, and he made me one. This is the sweetest sounding and playing guitar that I've probably ever played! I love it so much and will be using it in my future lessons! Check it out and watch them in 480p or 720p for better sound quality:

Thanks! Normally they are $1500 + shipping for the full deal (which includes a nicer neck and body, and pearloid tuners) but my budget was a little below that so the dude worked with me and we used a Mexican neck with an American body and gold tuners and it ended up costing me $900. Its the most expensive guitar I've ever owned and easily the best one!

Thanks!

Pickups are Texas Specials. The guy who made the guitar suggested them to me as being the closest to the tone of John Mayer's guitar. Supposedly, he has custom hand wound pickups with the pole pieces at custom heights, so its near impossible to copy them exactly, but these Texas Specials do a great job in my opinion!

The electronics are just standard Fender electronics, I believe. This is another thing we cut back on price to fit my budget. One thing I really like is that the top tone knob controls the middle pickup and the bottom one controls the bridge pickup. This is good for me because I always leave my neck pickup's tone on 10, and I always wish I could adjust the bridge pickup's tone, so now I can!

The tremolo/bridge is an off brand one that is the same mass as a standard Fender bridge. It does the job fine in my opinion.

Thanks!

I'm using a Fender Blues Jr NOS amp and a Zendrive for the overdrive. The sound is recorded in by the camera's built in microphone, so its not high quality audio, but I think the sound on the video is about equal to what the guitar sounds like in person, so I didn't both hooking it up to my UX2.

Thanks! The guitar lessons I've done on youtube are probably what has gotten me the most subscribers. My Gravity lesson has been viewed over 60,000 times in about 10 months, and I get lots of positive feedback from it, so that is where most of my subscribers have come from I think. That and doing lots of videos on a consistent basis helps too.
