That's amazing! It doesn't happen to me when I'm asleep but it use to happen when I'm trying to sleep on my bed... so what I do is get up and record the idea before I forget it! I don't think that there is a way to train yourself to remember the melodies but you should try to try to wake and record the idea.

This happened to me a lot of times. Just there in the "twilight zone" between being awake and asleep the best ideas may appear.
Unfortunately - a lot of melodies or cool choruses got forgotten when I woke up, but I managed to write down some of the lyrics Ideally you would have a digital recorded device/cell phone near you so you can "sing" the melodies in order not to forget them. Many musicians had these experiences, maybe the most famous is with the song "Yesterday" which Paul McCartney claims he wrote in the sleep (he woke up with the melody). -------------------- For GMC support please email support (at) guitarmasterclass.net

Yeah, even Joe Satriani wrote "Dream Song," for his new album, in his sleep. I can see why I am more creative at night. I'm more relaxed. Thanks for the replies.

I've only really had songs happen in my dreams and then I can't remember them when I wake up... but I don't really have songs come to me during consciousness
