My Second Anniversary At Gmc :) Options

Another year at GMC! it went so fast it seems like yesterday

Where to start? So many awesome things went by... let's just say that soon after last year's wiki competition I became more & more involved with our wiki/knowledge base, and somehow I became Wiki Coordinator, and a Senior soon after (thanks Kris!).

Lots of projects were going on, and many more came after, the GMC Journal being one of my favourites. Hundreds of entries, a Portal Team being recruited in the process and our best efforts to support other GMC departments such as REC and competition re-issues

I keep practicing every day for a couple hours or so, and I'm having a great time playing GMC lessons and learning songs that I love since I was a teenager. Being able to play them (easy ones!) is my goal, and GMC lessons, boards & community are all I need to keep at it until I can play like Dave Murray (in 30 years time ).

I have gathered some cool gear this year too, mainly a nice tube amp & pedalboard. I love it, and I don't practice anymore with my POD because it can't compare to a real amp, though I still use POD to record. Oh! I also got me a nice webcam too, for REC purposes mainly, though I also record my takes of songs I like

Next year goals:

- Learn some new techniques with GMC lessons. Sweeping for instance.
- Post more REC takes
- Learn loads of songs & record them.
- Get a mic to record my amp for real!
- Keep doing my best working & helping anyone interested in our Wiki
- Get lost in the forums for hours a day... wait that's not new


I can't stress how important GMC is in my regular practice routine. It's amazing how much I've learnt, and how I can now approach song tabs with ease that seemed impossible for me a year ago. I love guitar & I love this site. Thanks to everyone here for being so helpful & nice.

I'm eager to know what I'll be writing in another year's time!!
