How Do You Get Endorsements?, Ridiculous topic :)

Hey Guys,

I am not sure if its best to ask but wanted to know how to get endorsements from other big companies? I have hearing quite a lot about people getting endorsed by this and that so wanted to know what is the criteria? If you have been endorsed, what was it that these companies were interested ?

It's a marketing deal, where the company usually gives it's products in exchange for promotion through artist's activities. If you are active enough, good enough and have potential to reach wide audiences, you can apply.

I think it's not you going to them, but them coming to you (most of the time).

You see, they pretend to be working hard at there job, chatting on the phone to friends and browsing the net...

Then the BOSS comes in!

Ekk, yes sir, hard at work, look at this guy on er umm YouTube, I found great talent (5 sec browse on youtube - biggest hits), I'm just calling him now!

(that would explain all the great talent picked up before)

My old band had a few sponsors, oddly enough mostly from clothing companies. The clothing companies all came to us, but the few other companies (ie-drumsticks and strings) we got in touch with....mostly through networking with other friends who were already sponsored. You'd be surprised, but it's actually really hard to get a stick or string company to sponsor you. They have bands constantly bugging them because most people think it'd be easier to hook them than say a guitar or amp company. So I'd say go for the gold, pick a few guitar or amp companies and try to find their contact info. Then send them some music and see if they want to pick you up.

A drummer from my old band was endorsed and he did really well out of it...

Got all his sticks, cymbells, drums and standard stuff like that...

but he took it a step further and got a car, Tommy Hilfiger clothes & watches and generally loads of good stuff...

He was super active though and EXTREMLY good!!
