Hi! I haven't been active here for a while because of the project I released today. It's a silly chiptune album with lighthearted music for a puzzle-platform video game. Now I can finally start focusing on guitar a bit again! So basically...

Hehe, you could say that! This is my first bigger project(and it's still really small). I'm so thankful that I get to work on music every day!

I can imagine. I wonder how overall games sales compare to music sales - and how it relates to the amount of musicians/game producers out there.

Super Congrats!!!!! Put some high gain on that and use dissonant harmonies and you have a sort of BERRIED ALIVE vibe which is huge with the kids just now. The guy behind it has a massive following. It's 8 bit Djent and it's HUGE! I shared some a bit back and you dug it as well

As you know music sales have been in steady decline for quite some time. Music licnensing is something artist are using to make up some of the difference. Streaming is such a minimal income stream, licensing becomes nearly a requirement.

Thanks! Yeah I still dig Berried Alive I think he's way cool! When I start exploring a bit more unconventional compositional devices again I will definitely try to use more dissonant harmonies! I also think polymeters could work great for chiptunes.

One of my absolute favorite video game composers is Yousuke Yasui and I guess his style is what I'm ultimately aiming for. But I've got a long way to go! Here's one of his songs.

I think you may be too modest. Your composition is a bit more musical and more expansive IMHO than the Yasui tune. Though he's clearly got his style down to a hard science to be sure.

My project is stuck because I don't really have much time and ideas to develop it for now and I don't want to just stuff it with a bunch of fillers. I'll probably do some demo version once I'm done with my thesis and at least this burden will be gone. I'll let you know when it happens for sure
