Here is something people may be interested in, Portuguese Fado. In this case performed by Dulce Pontes probably the best performer and writer of the traditional Fado song. I love the instrumentation in these songs.

Not normally something I listen to but she's got a beautiful voice. That's the amazing thing about music isn't it ? Even if it's a genre you don't normally listen to, the passion of someone's performance can still connect with you. It usually only happens with people who are brilliant at what they do smile.gif

I like Fado.
I first heard it at WOMAD one year when Mariza performed! She was so powerful it was brilliant to listen to!!!

I was expecting someone would mention Mariza biggrin.gif I was supposed to see her in Lisbon in 2003 but, I had a car crash just before that evening and we spent it at the hospital unfortunately.
