Here is where the magic happens: the REC board turns bedroom guitarists into real pros. Remember - it doesn't matter if you fail or pass, as long as you keep posting REC takes you will progress.

The entries will be graded by a number of instructors. After grading, members will be accredited with the appropriate points if they pass, and adjustments will be made to their REC level.
Passing grade is 6 or higher.

Link to original lesson.

audio: fender strat -> boss DR880 -> fasttrack -> garageband (no effects)
video: flip
Audio and video poorly joined by quicktime, after hours of struggle with other tools. This is my first try with any kind of recording upload.

I don't believe I've mastered this lesson, but its vastly better than a month ago when I started (I'd never done any vibrato or muting) and I'm interested in getting some feedback on how I can improve. Thanks!

Well there is a lot to be improved. You said you would like tips about the vibrato. It needs to be from the wrist and needs to have nice and well balanced flow (vibrating in tempo). You're playing it to agressive from the elbow so your whole guitar is shaking. That's not the way to do it, just move your wrist and that's the whole point (check the instructor video for that). Your sound has some chorus or some other effect on it so it makes your guitar even more out of tune than it actually is. Yes, it's definitely a bit out of tune but I'll forgive you that smile.gif You said you started with this lesson a month ago so I think you're doing really well. All these things will come with time just keep practicing.

Sounds a little out of tune because of a chorus effect. Nice take.
