Feel Like a Challenge?

As part of the learning process, we tend to focus on one sound at a time when learning how to solo over chords and chord changes. But, one of the key stages in any players development is to develop the ability to move between different colors over the same chord, or switch scales mid-way through a set of chord changes.

To help you get to that point in your playing, I've put together a number of lessons that tackle looking at one chord or chord progression from several different angles when soloing over these changes. Each lesson comes with a backing track that you can practice with, as well as record yourself soloing over these chords and changes, then posting to get feedback on your soloing chops.

Here are all the Solo Challenge lessons.

Solo Challenge Lessons

1. Major vs Minor Pentatonic
2. Ionian vs Lydian Modes
3. Dorian vs Aeolian Modes
