Dream Theater vs Led Zeppelin, Lesson By Guido Bungenstock |
|
Here is where the magic happens: the REC board turns bedroom guitarists into real pros. Remember - it doesn't matter if you fail or pass, as long as you keep posting REC takes you will progress.
The entries will be graded by a number of instructors. After grading, members will be accredited with the appropriate points if they pass, and adjustments will be made to their REC level.
Passing grade is 6 or higher.

Original lesson: Dream Theater vs Led Zeppelin by Guido Bungenstock
Mein erster Versuch mit backing track bei 75bpm. Ist noch nicht ganz on time. Hast du noch Ideen worauf ich achten soll bzw. Wie bekomme ich das am besten auf Endgeschwindigkeit? Danke vorab Gruss Benny |

Very cool playing and awesome to see a REC take from you Benny! Sehr Schön! (sorry about my German 😅 )
Monica has already nailed the details for you, and I would like to address the question you had about the best way to work your way up to tempo. The general recipe for this is typically to start out devoting 80-90% working on the difficult parts / problem areas, and the rest of the time try to play the whole thing. The better you get at it, the more you should try playing the whole thing. However if you attempt to play the whole thing too early, you might get stuck. In other words - the difficult parts will be holding you back. So the best advice I can give you is a question: are you ready to practice the whole thing quite yet? I think your playing here is clearly promising and it's good you posted this video so we can could give you some details/pointers in time. If you would like to keep discussing this, feel free to open a new topic (since you cannot reply back to us here): https://www.guitarmasterclass.net/guitar_fo...ew_post&f=7 Can't wait to see the up-to-tempo version from you - and keep up the amazing work! 🤗 |

Hello Benf! Pleasure! I like the energy with which you play.
I think you have a good base but you need to make some adjustments to your technique in general to be able to make everything sound more consistent and also to be able to play at a higher tempo without losing precision and cleanliness. I have two recommendations to make, the first one has to do with the sound of this video. It would be nice if next time you could make your guitar sound a bit louder in the mix. This will allow us to be able to give more feedback regarding the details of what you play. Second, I'd like to suggest that you watch and work through this technique course to fine-tune each of the techniques you use in this lesson. https://www.guitarmasterclass.net/lessonser...hnique-Builder/ Start small and don't hesitate to write to me if you need help with any of the lessons. Meanwhile, I continued to practice this lesson to apply those techniques in a musical context. Cheers! -------------------- My lessons
