Hi. ATM i play with a Marshall MG 30DFX amp. For som time now iv been thinking about getting a louder amp (about 100w max)..so i can play with my band easier...(we play small gigs and loud practices)
the 30DFX is my bros....but hes suddenly announced he wants to sell it...
so now i see it as my calling to buy a new amp.
Iv always like this marshall, but iv never actually played with another amp....
iv been thinking of going up to the 100DFX ....for 220 pounds off the internet....
when i play guitar ....i like to put my amp on clean and change the sound using pedals...and the clean channel settings on the amp....
I play mainly blues, blues rock, bit of metal, bit of clean watever.....
So MY plan is to buy the Marshall 100DFX and use pedals with it.....
I wonder...do you think that this marshall is the a good choice for the music i play, and the requirements i have...??????
Thanks. If not, has any one got any other suggestions....my budget is about £250 off internet...i was thinking of a line 6 digital amp but reviews tell me its got bad clean...( so if i put it in clean and use pedals, i suppose it wont sound good?) Thanks

Concider me blunt but I don't think the Marshall DFX is a good amp.

I suggest you take a look at a Laney LC 30W. That 30W tubeamp would humiliate the solid state 100W dfx, into tears!!!

Here, here! The Laney is a fine suggestion! I also agree with MickeM that the Marshall DFX series are not great amps.
