This is exactly a full collab... Didn´t know where else to post. But since I do not own a 5 stringed bass I would like to have a little help smile.gif

First of all it´s a theme song for a counterstrike source clan that I might be joining. I know some of the people playing in it.
Therefor the panther sounds.

It´s only guitar and drums at the moment. None 100% ready but all that´s needed for doing the base smile.gif
Nothing fancy is needed. I´d do it myself just following the guitar if I only had a bass. But if you´re a skilled bassplayer feel free to come up with something smile.gif

Mixing ideas and such, all is welcome.

I will post the "song" after it is mixed and the manchoir is done of course.

Song is in the key of A. I didn´t tune the guitar before recording, shouldn´t be so off key you can hear it though. If it is, just adjust the bass a bit wink.gif

Having trouble picking the tune out, just ask and I´ll explain.. Shouldn´t be any problem though, pretty basic kind of riffs.

I`m up for a favors in return collabvise smile.gif

I have a 5 string bass, I'm not sure why you specified how many strings it has.
You want the entire song played on the B string?

No, but the root note should be an A.

The song is played with a 7 stringed guitar droptuned to A...

If you have a four stringed bass and try downtune it from E to A it will sound crap.

For sure it could be a 4 stringed or 2 stringed bass, whatever that is restringed and can sound good in A.
But generally that is not the case. People playing that low have 5 stringed bases.

Some people might restring a 4 stringed so it will sound good in C perhaps like many metalbands play in...
But I´m not sure how that will sound downtuned to A.

But I guess someone could record this on 4 string too...I can't make any promises since am slammed with time....
Maybe you want to programme a VST to play a bass for you ? That way it can go as low as you want it to wink.gif

p.s. you made a very cool track wink.gif

thx for comments smile.gif

VST could work, but real thing is better smile.gif

A bassplayer I know said it probably would sound ok playing an octave up too. And for that I got a bass that works.
I could try it, but I think I would prefer a darker bass. I´m aiming to finish this on sunday so if anyone is up for recording, it has to be done before that.

If you have access to a VST called Trilogy and use it through a plugin called Ampeg (It's like Guitar Rig for bass), then i'm sure you wouldnt notice the difference smile.gif Best vst-bass i've ever heard.
