Helllo folks,
I spoke to my friend who owns a little guitar shop about him selling my Countryman Resonator for me as I wasn't playing it. You need to be pretty slick to make a resonator sound good, sloppy playing sounds terrible on one. Anyway, my friend came to collect the resonator (he's recovering from a stroke and not working many hours so it's hard for me to get there as I used to go after work). Anyway, we got chatting about acoustics and I said "I love my Yamaha FG411 C (single cutaway dreadnought) but I find it uncomfortable, having a big belly and putting a dreadnought in front of it makes it uncomfortable. I said I'd like a smaller acoustic one day. A couple of days passed and he contacted me about a guitar someone had traded in. Today he brought it to me. Did a full setup, new D'Addario strings, gig bag and a soundhole cover. It's perfect for me, okay it's not a Taylor or a Martin (they were owned by Martin until 2007) but it's sounds lovely and feels great. Very happy with my unexpected swap The display is much clearer in real life -------------------- SEE MY GMC CERTIFICATE “Success is not obtained overnight. That's cool
I enjoy playing an acoustic time to time, very relaxing when the mood is right. |

Once I found my midi guitar solution with a cheap and handy Rock Band game controller, I sold my accoustics/classical guitars. The midi guitar sounded way better than I could ever get the other guitars to sound on a recording and it could input notation in to guitar pro directly throug playing it in! Not bad for a game controller that costs about $40. Of course, I had to get a Roland MIDI to USB adapter to go with it which was another $35.
Also, this particular piece would be nearly impossible to play on a real instrument. The stretch required is nuts. It's hard to play on this toy neck which is small. It would be all but impossible to play on a 12 string with a full size neck. So it lets me compose things that sound unique as they would be impossible if done on real instruments It's still being sold on amazing for $40https://amzn.to/2lLGso1 I sometimes miss having an acoustic guitar in my arsenal, but the one I had I never used, so I suppose I will stay without one for now. Happy NGD, Phil

There's something about strumming an acoustic that no amount of emulation will achieve, must be about feeling the vibrations through your body.

The Sigma line has always made a good quality, good playing and good sounding steel string.
Enjoy it! -------------------- - Ken Lasaine

The Sigma line has always made a good quality, good playing and good sounding steel string. Enjoy it! Cheers Ken Martin sold the Sigma me in 2007 and it looks like they now make this guitar as part of the X series made in Mexico, they sell for around £675 here but I've read a lot of bad press. I think I've done the right thing, basically a straight swap for the resonator, worth new strings, gig bag, setup and sound hole cover, have my mate £20 for his trouble, job done. -------------------- SEE MY GMC CERTIFICATE “Success is not obtained overnight. Bit of recording please!!! Todd Maybe when I've caught up on my return buddy. I'll mic up and record purely from the mic, then plug in and go through a Helix acoustic amp if there is stuck a thing.
