If you are getting an Ibanez I'd get a Prestige (made in Japan) model. I love my RG2570. Their necks are really thin, I think that's what I like the most.

I would say the first thing I would make the major factor of a guitar is the feeling. Do you like how its held, the action/tension, neck width/radius/thickness. After that its really fair game. You can change pickups to suit your need.
I've owned a LTD, the only reason I got rid of it was because it was a V so it was standing or attempt to balance and play it. My friend is a loyal Ibanez fan, he loves the thin neck that it has and how light they are. Schecter I've sat down and played them they feel like a standard guitar, average across the board nothing ever stood out to buy one tho. I've been in the mood for a new guitar it depends on what I would like to go with. If I go a 7-string I'm getting an Ibanez, id a 6-string, I'm contemplating a Parker Nitefly because they come with a piezo so I could get a more natural acoustic sound out of an electric so it would be more versatile. - Travis S. -------------------- Guitars:

All 3 brands are good.
Walk in to the guitar store and let your hands and ears decide what fits you best. -------------------- "If the need is deep, you WILL find a way , if it isn't, you'll find some excuse"

Yeah they've all got plus points. Purely on a visual test, the LTD and Schecters seem more solid and positive wheras Ibanez's have always been a bit too 'dainty' for me..

Not sure really, I tried these guitars only in store, and Schecter cheaper models didn't seem that great in terms of intonation and built, LTD models being nice and sturdy, but not with a great tone, and Ibanez being somewhere in the middle, with lower-middle class (but standardized) tone and feel.
I suggest that you try as much of these as you can, this would make sure that you get your own opinion on that matter, which will be most important one, since you will be playing this guitar after all. I'd also try some PRS SE models, they are very good products in respect to both price and quality.

A fast way to know if an Ibanez is made in japan (Prestige) is that it has four figures, so RG2550, RG3570, etc would all be Japan made. -------------------- Guitars:
