Does the X3 have a pre-amp? With my Toneport, it does'nt so I can't just plug into my cab. One of the reasons I bought powered studio monitors.

well you have to have a power amp in order to drive those cabs...And I guess you can use that pod as pre amp though..

You need a pre amp totally. My friend plays a pod through a cab with a power amp - sounds amazing!

Definitely need a poweramp in between the pod and the cab. VHT makes great poweramps, also Marshall and Mesa, if you think of buying one, check those out

You'll need a power amp to drive the speakers.
