Hey JVM, I've now updated the backing with a new bass line. It keeps a flow going. Also for the funk I recommend using some simple techniques, but watching for the rhythm more. The rhythm is the key, and you must get into the groove. It is not important wheter you play 16 notes or half notes, the main key is to keep in the groove. I sugggest not playing a lot of fast licks all the time, and keep blues licks here and there, because they do get al ong with this kind of groove.

Great effort Joe, but you forgot to give me a solo guitar, so I can mix it properly. Thanks my friend!

I hope I can participate "2" times.
I made a fill (which I am posting now if someone wants to use it ) and I figured out also a lead. However the backing track is quite challenging fast, and I am working to bring up my lead up to tempo. In the end it makes a good exercise also About the fill, it sounded cool when playing along, but I had trouble synchronizing(not perfect now). Anyone has tips in that area? << EDIT - recording replaced by new one >> This post has been edited by Gus: Mar 4 2008, 02:05 AM

It is called a latency, it is the time that takes your computer to do the proccesing of the signal from analog to digital, do the math, and convert it back to analog again. It is mesaured in miliseconds. Unfortunately if you have a slow soundcard you have to sync every file manualy, or if you use cubase you can set the default delay compensation value for each track you record.
