Wah Question, Where to put the wah pedal

Hi

I have a 535Q crybaby and I was wondering where to put it. Should it be like this?:

Amplifier -> Wah pedal -> Distortion pedal -> Guitar

Or this?:

Amplifier -> Distortion pedal -> Wah pedal -> Guitar

I experimented a bit with the 2 setups. If I put the wah before the distortion it seems to give a more powerful effect. But when I use it the other way around I get a very cool effect but only with my boss overdrive, not with my boss metal zone. Using my metal zone I get an effect in the low frets but not in the higher ones.

Is there something wrong with my gear perhaps?

What order do you use your gear in?

Any replies would be most welcome smile.gif

It's supposed to be wah first in line to every pedal because it distorts your sound a little bit and will make your sound muddy when you put it after the overdrive. But that's just the general opinion, put it where you like the sound most.

Wah as an effect has a function of pre EQ,
so yeah,most common option is to have it before distortion,amp section etc.
But you can try different order as well,see what will happen. smile.gif

One example:
guitar->wah->dist->preamp->delay->flager->chorus->poweramp

General rule is - if it sounds good it sounds good.

When i had my Crybaby i had it first in line after the guitar, which gave the best results.

The best control is achieved when wah is the first in line, but I got some very interesting results putting it after distortion pedal too. Experiment wink.gif
