People tell me that I have a Brittish accent and ask me if I'm British but I've never been to Britain in my life wacko.gif... But I do like the sound of a Brittish accent so maybe I subconsciously make myself sound British? tongue.gif Strange, huh?

Not sure, I find it very interesting to hear other culture's accents when they speak english. I like all types of accents. I think British accent sounds very nice and pleasant, more natural to me then US accent. However, I enjoy slight southern accent as well, it can sound very nice if it's not too heavy.

From other countries, hmm not sure.. all are interesting in their own way! smile.gif

What's up with entire countries pronouncing english in a funny way.

The stereotypical German can not say "the" but ends up with tse or ze or something like it.
I don't know how bad it is now, but I know it was some years ago, when I visited the north-eastern part of Germany.

Every Swedish person, I've ever heard will say "sheep", when they actually mean "cheap".
Maybe you would pronounce it like that, if it was Swedish, but seriously have the never heard this word in an English/American movie

Danes are probably not perfect either, here is an example of taking a say from on language and translating it to jibberish.

(Turn down, screwdriver..?)

And finally I met some Italians when I went to language school in Hastings many years ago.
Ia wantara toa hava a breaka nowa. (I want to have a break now, seriously they all talked like that)

Australians and New Zealanders are relaxed and sometimes overexcited at the same time and it's heard in the way they talk.
I enjoy these accents.

Scottish (and maybe Irish) is just fun, but not beautiful.

Just my opinion smile.gif

From the languages surveys, the kiwi accent has been rated the most attractive and prestigious form of English. American's are said to find our accent really sexy... I'm not sure "fush and chups bro"...

I personally like accents/languages depending on what they say or sing...
German for heavy rock/metal and screamo
Swedish for old school rocks
Italian for opera (not that I really like opera)
Spanish for smooth or pop
French is more classical

So for pleasant sounding, I guess I would have to pick Spanish.

I had to look up Kiwi Accent smile.gif
I think I like a good Irish or Scottish accent myself.
I had a the pleasure of meeting a Gaelic acquaintance in person and I said "I love your accent", and he said, "you're the one with the accent". haha. too true. I wish I knew what a Californian accent sounds like. Guess I'll, like, never know, right? totally.
