That sounds great! It's important to keep at least those 30 minutes every day. Let's see what happens with the harmonics with Lian's lesson and basing on that we can then plan working on something to master this technique in the lower strings (like Zakk Wylde).
Could you please tell me 5 of your favourite albums? -------------------- My lessons

First warm up thing sound like this right now at 120 bpm
I can hear it's not perfect especially the 2 round. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_OpMG3hC34Y I know I have home work, but I just did this, and it didn't take that long: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4OKjDlwRyrY https://www.guitarmasterclass.net/rhythm-gu...x-style-lesson/ What do you think? I'll give you 5 songs here of some favorite bands: Dimmu Borgir https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JeITMxApxKw COF https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HSHn4IHarfc Mercenary (I would love to play the solo of this as fast as it is supposed to) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jvUHI8GmZiQ Ironmaiden (This I can play, but maybe my technique is not that good, I know it isn't) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MmAtwvZYTe8 Megadeth (This I can play, except the last guitar bits, the are too fast) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Lp5VN8wp__I But I also like Zakk, Jimi, Vai, it depends on mood. I listened a lot to the American rock band "Live". Audioslave, Rammstein, Staind, System of a down, even Nickelback ...and Dio, and Aerosmith.... And lately a lot of power metal like Dragon force, Rhapsody of Fire, Royal hunt.... Thanks for your help This post has been edited by Ulrik: Feb 24 2012, 04:14 PM -------------------- |

Hi Ulrik! It's great to see you working hard!! The warming up exercises sounds good, even the timing is just perfect! Are you using Alternate Picking or Sweep Picking? Keep on playing it and now concentrate on getting the same volume for each note. The Hendrix tune sound also good. You have to make the chord changes sound smoother now. Maybe you could decrease a bit the tempo and try to make it sound groovier and smoother. Also I would love to hear it with less drive, that Hendrix's tone created with clean Marshall channel with maybe a boos of Tube Screamer is perfect for this type of stuff. Also thanks for the music links. This makes me know you a bit more... we will do something with some of those songs. -------------------- My lessons
