SM57 is for instruments, and vocals if you don't have anything else.

Pop filter for instruments? No, only for voice in studio, and that is not necessary too.

sm-57 is great for recording instruments, but with loud volume such as guitar amplifiers or loud acoustic instruments, not for acoustic guitars sm-58 is for live vocals if you need to record acoustic guitar you need a condenser mic such as pg-81 I agree. The best choice for guitars is the SM 57. I also have the BETA58 and it's great for vocals. Sometimes I use it for guitar and I like the quality too. So I think that the Beta58 or beta57 would be great too because ill work ok for acoustics too. -------------------- My lessons

You can't go wrong with shure Sm58 for vocals and sm57 for guitars (amps)

I think Beta's are more expencive than SM's is not?
