I've been having this problem lately of constantly being tired, despite getting enough and good sleep. And I kinda have this feeling that it's making me not wanting to play guitar, as I hate playing when tired.

Any good advice to feeling awake and refreshed quickly? smile.gif

I'm eating somewhat healthy. Not overly healthy, but just...average.

The exercise might be what's missing at the moment. I used to ride my bicycle quite a bit (racing bicycle), but my knee has been playing up for the last month or two.

Sometimes things like white bread, white rice and pasta, although part of a healthy diet can make some people tired.

Unfortunately it's all related to Your living style. According to to necessary need of making money for living (no matter if it's a regular job or living from playing) we are not able to choose the way we live in 100%. This makes being tired something usuall. Beer can fool us that we're not...but that's not a long distance solution...

I don't know exactly how is your life but here is a list of things that I consider important to feel good, health and happy:

- Sleep Well: This doesn't mean that you have to sleep a lot of hours. There are some studies that say that the best amount of sleeping hours to be productive is around 6 and 7 hours. Here I would like to share a great article about this. LINK

- Exercise: Do some kind of exercise every day. There are lots of sports that we can do, even walking for 20 minutes can make a difference in how you feel. There is a very good article about what happens to our brains when we do exercises in this LINK

- Eat Well: Having a good diet is also fundamental to feel good, healthy and with energy. There are lots of possible diets out there but the best is to go to a specialist that designs a diet for you.

- Vacation: Sometimes we think that we can't stop, but the reality is that we must stop and go for some vacation. If you don't do it you can feel stressed and the symptoms of this are being tired, nervous and unproductive.

Finally I would like to share this thread where I shared a very cool article that will help you because it's a bit related.

I hear ya!! I have had this same thing even when in decent physical routine is observed. What sometimes helps is turning on the web cam and shooting the fingers or entire performance of a give lick/song and watching back. On the first watch I usually find something I didn't know I was doing and want to record again right away. Then I notice something else wrong. Next thing I know I"ve made 5 recordings and fixed some playing issues as well smile.gif

Hey man - I am a very strong believer in the fact that the quality of the life you live, as Gabe and Darius very well pointed out, is a decisive factor of the way in which your results in various activities will take shape.

Here's my recipe: ~ 7 hrs of sleep/ night, eating normally but not abusing anything (plus, no junk food, no soft drinks - I only drink water or alcoholic drinks in a reduced amount - a glass or two of wine/ day), sword practice 6 out of 7 days and 4 fitness training sessions a week.

Maybe you don't have the time for all of this, but I hope it'll at least push you a bit biggrin.gif

I used to ride my bicycle 2-4 times a week for 50 km, and then 2x football practice a week as well, but as said earlier, my knee has been troubling me, so I need to come up with some alternative untill I can return to doing that. smile.gif

Well, one thing would be to look for various forms of physical exercise which do not involve knee movements or too many knee movements - rowing maybe? Swimming?
