Nice, I had an S once, traded it for my RG1570.
One Ibby I'd like is an R540 but they're like rocking horse muck.

They are both based on the original Sabre Series. The body is smaller and has more rounded corners and horns. This one has a Mahoagany body which is my fave tone wood. It does make the guitar quite heavy for it's size though but the sustain is great. My RGT42 neck through is also Mahogany and it's got unGodly sustain. I love MIJ Ibbys and I"ve got a copule, but they are just so crazy pricey i've started looking for non MIJ guitars that have good features. This guy was only $300 so the price was right

I actualy like these. They are pre INF. Also I'm an ibby purist corksniffer so I don't ever mod my Ibbys. They are all bone stock. I have nothing against making a guitar better, I'm just more of a collector of bone stock ibbys and if the pups are crap I just work around it in processing. You know what I hated about my S? As soon as I took it out of the box my eyes went straight to the fine tuners on the trem. The finish was shocking, they had obviously been machined with no quality in mind, the lathe tool that faced the head was traversing much too fast for the spindle revs of the machine (using a low cost machine with slow spindle speed but still traversing as you would on a more expensive machine with a higher spindle speed). This leaves a horrible spiral scroll. That was disappointing for me as it was my first Ibby and I always thought that they only produced excellence. They all looked like the primary rough stock removal machining had been done but not the finishing pass.

It was around £500 not MIJ but I'd never had an Ibanez before and just expected more at any price. Even if I was making a £100 guitar, I couldn't put my name to the way those tuners were machined.

It was brand new from a respected dealer/shop and I bought it mail order.
