Here is my take without FX and with no backing. This is the THU patch with NO FX turned on. Phil tried this patch and it was way too noisey on his rig for some reason. If we have any other THU users on GMC, please do try this patch and let me know if it's way noisey on your system pretty please wink.gif

Attached File  blues_lead_nofx.ovp.zip ( 3.46K ) Number of downloads: 79

Attached File  Todd_noFX_without_backing.mp3 ( 7.6MB ) Number of downloads: 90

Same patch with fx turned on. Seems quiet enough? It's gainy but not crazy noisey.

The descending muted run at 21 seconds in is something I love doing. I dig the way it gets chunky ad the note separation right before a big pick squeal smile.gif

Hi Kris

My name has not been called. I played on the Backing Track.
I hope it’s good for you ?

I let myself be guided by the BT, you may find it a bit strange, but I took pleasure

Amazing phrases MisterM - love it, thanks!!

OK I think this collab is now getting very interesting from an instructional perspective.

We can hear several different approaches: we have some super obvious examples of call-and-response where the guitar lead is paying 110% attention to the vocals. On the other side of the spectrum we have some full on shred playing - where the guitar lead is taking space above the vocals. And then we have everything in between 😎

This allows us - as listeners - to form an opinion on what we prefer hearing. Then we can - as guitarists - try to adapt our playing accordingly.

Now, what do you think?

This is honestly brilliant imho. Puttng this together can't have been easy. Making it all sound like it's meant to be in the same song must have taken some tweaking. Everyone with different tones/levels/etc., not to mention styles of play. it all comes together quite well. I didn't expect it to flow as smoothly as it does. It works as a song which is great. I love how different each take is. It's a great collab! I hope we can share it on youtube as a video. Maybe I can put a picture wth eacy player and make a vid out of it?

Hi Kris

Your idea is great, but I don’t think I respected it.
I should have played on a call from phil, monica etc.... to let the BT breathe
You could have put your voice down... I feel like I’m on the sidelines of what you asked for

For sure! You can use the final mix when we are done.

Mixwise I give this a tweak every time I sit down with it. I think there is still some work to do.

Yeah that would be amazing!! 😍 With the shared reverb and delay it's probably as close as we get to a blues pub jam - 'in the mix'.

Here is a new version where I added this:

01:34 MisterM call-out

05:47 my vocal responses to MisterM's lead

06:46 New callout for anybody who wants to join

07:34 New Phil call-out

Attached File  GMC_name_calling_mix3.mp3 ( 7.35MB ) Number of downloads: 101

This collab is still open for anyone to join, in any shape or form! 🤗
