I'm looking at the Alesis M1 actives and wanted to know what you guys were using. Just cant seem to match actual sound when recording. I've tried to run through my amp as well but that don't seem to produce the best quality. Any recomendations? Budget between $100-$200.

Thanks
Steve

For 100-200 you can't really get good monitors. I strongly advise you to reconsider and be patient for a few months and buy something more serious and more durable. It sounds like a boring advice, but it is the truth really. With 400$ you can buy some decent monitors that will last you a good 5-6 years.

Thanks Milenkovic. I'll seriously consider your advice. I may just go for some good headphones for the short term and watch the ebay for a good set of monitors.

Thanks again man!

I'll say the same as Ivan.. cheap monitors are never any good.
I got a pair of 500$ SLX monitors which are just about right for me.

Alesis is a good brand though, but i recommend looking at some of the higher models.

No problem man, whatever you need we're here smile.gif

Regarding headphones, if you haven't bought already - AKG K141 Studio are great for the money, I have them as monitor headphones and the sound is very flat and crispy. I'll do a review on them soon! smile.gif
