does the fret have a cavity where the strings gets caught or a fret-splinter, on the 10'th fret. Now I mean something extremely small, but but enough to cut the string.

Nope, can't see anything on 10/11/12/13 frets. Looks like it broke on 12th fret this time.

Nope, can't see anything on 10/11/12/13 frets. Looks like it broke on 12th fret this time. Something is wrong or something has changed. Strings don't start breaking after 16 years of playing. The style changed? You never used to bend this much before. That's one thing. Bending certainly wears the strings out. Maybe try a different gauge? -------------------- My bands homepage

Hmm, it could be that the fret itself is a bit sharp due to lots of bending (it happens). The saddle can also be sharp or unusual shape so the string sits twisted in it. It's a twist that you cannot see or feel, but it affects the strings life and tension.
Try this: * Take a D string (it has the smallest windings of all bass strings), and grind it against the top of the saddle, where the string is passing, so you get that part nice and smooth. * Take a graphite pencil and put some graphite in the nut groove of the strings * Take a polishing tool and polish the fret slightly -------------------- - Ivan's Video Chat Lesson Notes HERE
