Watched the ' premiere' of Taken 2 yesterday in the cinema and it's real good! Again some real original scenes ..
Luc Besson directed the movie and you can notice it rightaway....i'm always cautious with sequels but it delivered the goods!

Man, I've read a lot of reviews and they're not positive. Although Besson was kind of involved, it was directed by someone called Olivier Megaton and apparently it's been really toned down and the editing is really stupid and fast so you don't even know what just happened. The main criticism seems to be that all the grittiness and edginess that made the first one so good have been lost. But then again critics are often just wrong.

Critics and reviews..i never read them smile.gif ..
I think mr Megaton was the coffeeman on the set..the movie is typical Besson.
The way Liam Neeson orchestrates his escape with the help from his daughter is really unbelievable.. rolleyes.gif
Much more handheld camera work though....

They say Besson was working the script and screenplay but Megaton (what a dumb name) was definitely directing.

Either way, if you enjoyed it then that's all that matters. It's just a film at the end of the day and I look forward to seeing it smile.gif

I read that he named himself Megaton because his birthday fell on the anniversary of Hiroshima or something like that tongue.gif

I watched it last night and was thoroughly entertained. it was a great paced film, it was interesting to see the daughter getting a bigger part, though I was hoping to see her kicking some ass!

I'm not a big fan of her to be honest.. she's kind of got this perfect American girl vibe which I don't like. (Sorry Maggie, you're just not my cup of tea but I'm sure you're a lovely person smile.gif)

I think that's why I wanted her to get some action (not that kind of action!) just to get rid of some of that 'All American' daddy's girl image. I'd have thought after the first experience he'd have trained her in hand to hand combat and shooting with various guns.

I just saw the movie and it was great! smile.gif
First part was better but this one also held the suspense and attention throughout!
It really kept me on the edge smile.gif

It's been number 1 in the box office for the 2 weeks it's been out here I believe. I haven't seen it yet but friends have and they loved it. Said the formula is pretty much the same, some predictable scenes, but that it still had great action.

I'll see it just cause I loved the first one and I never really listen to critics, like to make my own opinion. Also it's like 2 hours of Liam Neeson... I see nothing wrong with that wub.gif biggrin.gif
