Hi dude!

I think you should start using your wrist more when you do fast passages, that's going to help you later on in your process.

It would be a good idea to do another take of this improv using only long and slow notes. That's going to make sound more pro in the end

Focus on the synchronization of both hands. If you want to play fast - learn to play slow.

Hi smile.gif

Before you get too far into shredding etc, you really need to spend some time developing your string bending and vibrato. This is not as boring as it sounds and it won't take long before you start noticing improvements.

For the vibrato, you need to start using your wrist and other fingers to add strength to the technique. If you just use the power of your finger then you won't get much control or effect. I described the motions for vibrato to somebody else yesterday. I've copied what I wrote here:

For the more regular vibrato (normal 'up, down' wrist vibrato) - that needs some work to make the motion more from the wrist not the finger. The 'U' shape formed between your thumb and first finger is like a fulcrum that pivots on the guitar neck. The combination of your wrist strength and pivoting is what actually makes the vibrato happen, not the finger. The finger just provides a stable and strong grip on the string but it's the other factors that make the technique work. I hope that makes sense

For string bending, I would be happy to recommend some lessons to try if you like ? smile.gif

I agree with the others.

You might want to slow down a bit, work on playing cleaner and more accurate on your finger tips in time with a metronome. Focus on taking things smoothly, then build up speed slowly, keeping the synchronization of both hands. Normally one hand will work faster than the other, it happens with everyone, the challenge is to keep them playing together at the same speed. This takes some time and practice.

that was cool dude, but i agree with the others, you need to improve some basic first, i see where you wanna go and how do you wanna play, but don't try to skip some phases, ben is right, and he's the man. I'm sure he will get you some great lessons, also, try to attend video chats and ask instructors anything you want, mine is every wednesday at 4pm GMT-5, that's 10pm in europe, all the chat sessions are listed on the home page smile.gif

have fun!

Hey, you've found my vibrato lessons, which is great ! I'll suggest some bending videos for you:

https://www.guitarmasterclass.net/ls/D-Minor-Bending/

https://www.guitarmasterclass.net/solo-guit...kout-full-half/

These are good ones because they are quite simple and they develop 2 things - 1: Getting the bend up to the correct pitch 2: the rhythm of the bend.

Allow yourself to make small sections of progress, instead of trying to tackle too much at one time. If you give yourself smaller goals then you have a better chance of achieving them in a short time which then keeps you motivated to go further smile.gif
