I just wanted to add my equipment to the list, but for me there is no edit button on the page mellow.gif It only shows buttons named article, discussion, view source, history and watch, can anybody help me with this and tell me what to do?

Is it giving it to you in German?

The "Edit" button is where between "Discussion" and "History" in English. If you're getting it in German, I'm wondering if there's a translation error in the wiki app.

Well guys, the list is starting to form itself, I'm so glad.

From now on, this topic can serve for discussion about this project. Some ideas on how to transform all the data that we eventually get in some order that people can read it easily would be great! smile.gif

Cool thanks man! smile.gif

For those of you who happen to load only this page, here's the info:

We're building a gear list on Wiki. You can enter the gear that you use ONLY for recording here on GMC.
Here's the link: https://www.guitarmasterclass.net/wiki/inde...rs_Gear_Listing

Also Organized had a nice formatting template, so I did similar with his, it would be great to all follow similar formatting if possible smile.gif

The more wiki-oriented way to handle this would be to put it on the page discussion part of the wiki, but attribution can be difficult there.

I linked my name to my forum profile.

Also, I linked each item to its product page with the manufacturer for now. What I was thinking on more of a longer-term thing would be that each piece of gear mentioned should actually have a page in the wiki dedicated to it. The page for the piece of gear would link to the manufacturer's page, link to reviews (at GMC and/or Harmony Central), sound clips attached (from those of us that can record), and maybe a tips/tricks section for things that would be good to know about it.

The physical layout needs some thought. I know the way it is is temporary to make it easier for people to get their information in, but I think there's a bunch of different ways for the layout to be done and there are a lot of bad choices to make...smile.gif

UPDATE: Just to be clear, this is just my suggestions. Except for the actual list of who has what, the rest can be done after the fact by any one of us. I'm not suggesting that we all have to do any of that when adding our stuff....it's just easier later on if the info's there when it's entered in.

I agree Scott, currently let's just build a list so we have all the raw data, later on there are numerous possibilities how we can format the list, and give references. smile.gif

for now, it is not a rule to do everything similar, the goal now is to collect as many as data possible, later we will definitely do as you say, and reference everything, to be connected to the forum, our wiki, and external links for more info of course! smile.gif

Marcus you have to log into the wiki. if u go toward the bottom of the page you will see something called personal tools with some links underneath it. to log in click the log in button and then u will be able to see edit and all those other bars.

its where u can write articles on topic (for us its guitar related) and other people can edit it or add to it

It's one of those things where it's a little weird when yo get started, but eventually it starts to make sense once you work with it a bit.

I put your stuff up.

Excellent work Scott! The list already looks pretty slick, I imagine what would be look like when we gather around all the data! Can't wait! smile.gif

Little edit, if somebody can't edit the Wiki article properly, he can put the info here and some of the members will put it there! smile.gif Hooray for Wiki! biggrin.gif

I think it is best if people post there info in here Ivan and one person adds to wiki as if you are both editing same wiki at same time as another and save then it will override what they have done when the other person saves and their list will disappear.
