What are your views on the Line 6 Flextone iii and the Vox Valvetronix. i have purchased a line 6 flextone iii and it doesnt really impress me, i was thinking of buying a vox valvetronix vt50 or vt100 , would this be a wise move? is the vox better?

Not sure is it is better, it is best to check it out yourself in the store. I think that Vox offers a more warmer natural sound cause of the analog signal path.
I've played version 50, and it has a cool sound. It's a good regular gigging combo. VT100 is great, I heard it on one gig and was amazed by the tone from that combo, but a lot heavier as well, it has 2 speakers.

I like the Vox Valvetronix better than Flextone.

However, you should check out the Peavey Vypyr Tube 60. I've owned quite a few good modeling amps and this one is just about the best of them.

Maybe your problem is the modeling technology itself?!
The Vox sounds diffrent but I can't say it sounds better than the line6... You can always try it, you might like it more but the problem might be the sterile sounding modeling technology - get yourself a real amp (yes I hate modeling amps...) wink.gif

Im a tube lover, BUT i had for like 6 months a vt100, and i loved it!
got a 12ax7 on the power amp section of the amp, and a power attenuator so you can really have the impression of tube saturation.

Very good response, 8 programmable channels and a ton of effects and amps to choose.
One thing i dislike about the vt100 are the speakers, they got too much low end and too little attack for my taste, but i change them for some celestions (cant remember the exact model) and voila! a great sounding amp.

Eventually i let it go, cause for modeling i like Guitar Rig better, much more tone possibilities.

Maybe u can try guitar rig too!
