Not sure is it is better, it is best to check it out yourself in the store. I think that Vox offers a more warmer natural sound cause of the analog signal path.
I've played version 50, and it has a cool sound. It's a good regular gigging combo. VT100 is great, I heard it on one gig and was amazed by the tone from that combo, but a lot heavier as well, it has 2 speakers. Im a tube lover, BUT i had for like 6 months a vt100, and i loved it!
got a 12ax7 on the power amp section of the amp, and a power attenuator so you can really have the impression of tube saturation. Very good response, 8 programmable channels and a ton of effects and amps to choose. One thing i dislike about the vt100 are the speakers, they got too much low end and too little attack for my taste, but i change them for some celestions (cant remember the exact model) and voila! a great sounding amp. Eventually i let it go, cause for modeling i like Guitar Rig better, much more tone possibilities. Maybe u can try guitar rig too! -------------------- Check my Instructor Profile Rockers!
