Ascending Arpeggio Slide (Arpeggio Lick) INTRO: This lick is an Arpeggio style lick that is picked more than “Swept”. It’s a “Slide” lick which means you will slide up the neck while keeping contact with the fret board. Take it note by note.. Don't worry about playing this fast at first. Just worry about playing it note for note in a smooth/precise fashion. The speed will come as you practice the lick. You don’t get ANY points for how fast you play it. Here is the tablature. As always, start SLOW, don't worry about playing this fast. Just focus on playing it CLEAN Speed is a byproduct of precision. Just like previous quick licks, this lick works as a warmup, practice and solo lick. Don't over stress on getting it just right, or fast enough. This is just about learning the lick. Once you have it you can start it anywhere on the neck to play it in any key. 6.gp5 ( 1.73K ) Number of downloads: 137 BACKGROUND / COMMENTS This lick is not connected to a backing track. You can play it with a backing track if you like. Anything based in the key of A should work just fine. For our purposes here, just playing with a metronome or click track is more than fine BTW: The slide is not easy at first so give yourself a moment to get used to it. Being able to slide will open up a new range of licks for your hand to be able to play. WARM UP LICK: Here are the first few notes of the lick to get you started. The tricky bit is using the third finger to bar over two strings. 6warmup.gp5 ( 1.57K ) Number of downloads: 136 This post has been edited by Todd Simpson: Mar 25 2018, 02:05 AM |

My fingers are slowly getting the hang of this, ascending is easier than descending, I think it's the reverse roll that is my sticking point

The reverse roll was added just to force folks to get used to doing a reverse roll Don't worry about doing it fast, as long as you can do it at all you can badge up!
Todd My fingers are slowly getting the hang of this, ascending is easier than descending, I think it's the reverse roll that is my sticking point Umm. Dude. YOU ARE THERE!!!! We could just grade this one if you like. I might put just a pinch more gain on to make the slide a bit easier on ya, but yeah, I'd say it's ready to go This is more than plenty. Once you get to this point, I"d say move on to the next one!! Tod Here's where I am so far with this one Todd. Please critique. Thanks. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sl1Yl6a0Zhk |

Tod Thanks Todd. I'll record again, I had the vol pot down to about 4 for that one because I was short on time and my Ben Higgins/Phil Collen patch was in the Helix already Phil -------------------- SEE MY GMC CERTIFICATE “Success is not obtained overnight.
