I wish to download one of the KWS style videos. I practise in the shed where my work computer is and has no internet connection. I don't disturb the family that way. I would like to copy the video and be able to play it on the computer in the shed. I've just joined and love the KWS video. Can anyone help me.

I don't know if you can download the vids directly, but a pair of headphones might be a good idea to allow you to play near an internet connection. You can get a usb to guitar style cable for about $35 and use a free bit of software like Guitar Rig Free and have your entire guitar setup on computer running through headphones so that you don't have to go out to the shed and you still won't disturb the family smile.gif having an internet connection is very handing when learning just about anything. smile.gif That way your rig is self contained. If it's a laptop, so much the better, but it will work fine with a desktop too.

Here is the type of cable I'm talking about. It's the one I use. It's meant for the ROCKSMITH video game but works as a recording tool as well smile.gif

Here is a link to the guitar rig player. A virtual rack/amp/fx bit of software.

grab a . pair of headphone of any kind and bam. You don't have to go to the shed smile.gif

Use download helper https://www.downloadhelper.net/install this will download the video and convert it into mp3. I;ve only managed to get it to work in Firefox but it does have a Chrome extension.

You can then alter the speed in your DAW

Hope this helps.

There a better and easier way that I messaged SSS about. When I want save a vid for later, I use Apowersoft free screen recorder found here, https://www.apowersoft.com .

It's pretty simple. I use the free web screen recorder rather then the pay version.

I also use Quicktime, which works well, but I have to use soundflower to get the audio into quicktime. To do this on my mac I have to create a Hybrid sound device in my system sound output that combines my regular sound device and soundflower into one sound output device.

Apowersoft and quicktime work pretty much the same. Apowersoft is just without the sound device issue. I've recorded things as long at 2 hours with both.

Well done! Using that method, you could grab pretty much anything on the web, with sound. The quicktime utility is great for recording movie screen grabs. However, as mentioned, piping the audio to the quicktime app can be tricky. The audio can always be recorded separately, even using a 1/8th inch cable out of the computer and into your smart phone. Then the audio/video can be paired up in a video editor.
