I'm Back From Guitar Center...the Ibanez Turned Out To Be A Nightmare!

May 24 2008, 11:12 PM	Learning Apprentice Player & Challenge Star Posts: 1.995 Joined: 10-March 08 From: Albany NY USA	Long story short...the luthier that looked at it couldn't believe how screwy the neck was. The action was "unacceptably high" (his words), and the low E string was STILL buzzing all the way up to the 18th fret! He tried to adjust it out with the truss rod, but he could never square it away. He said the neck was shot! They let me do an in-store exchange which saved me time and hassle about shipping it back to California. I picked up a barely used, but in perfect condition Fender Showmaster Strat. It has Seymour Duncan pickups and plays beautifully! I can't believe how low the action is on it. I was surprised how well of a metal tone I was able to get with the S-S-S pickup setup!
