These are solid studio monitors as far as I can see.

PA is for live shows, it is something completely different.

Home use for now, I'll upgrade if I need something for live. I just want to get the best sound out of the pod as possible.

Goliaths suggestion looks pretty cool, personally tho for home use I`d go for the monitors, can use them for other stuff as well then.

You get a 50w 112 or 212 and you'd have enough balls for small gigs, and at that point you'd still have a good practice amp when you do finally bring home a pro rig.

Cheapest way out would be headphones tongue.gif.

Studio monitors are not for live shows. They are quality built speakers made for home use not live abuse.

PA systems on the other hand are completely other category of speakers. You use them for live shows, and they constist of microphone, amplifier and speakers. Often you'll be needeng a mixer along because you have more than one microphone on stage.

So, if you need two boxes for quality home use, go for the monitors, and active ones. They have amp built in.

If you need PA for live shows, go for some PA boxes, poweramp and a mixer.

These Mackie HR824 Studio Monitor look very nice !!! I think they will work with your POD X3 nicely ...They will give you very detailed sound picture...I don't recommend PA systems for home use.. wink.gif
