Hi Folks,
I'm preparing for the REC program, doing Marcus Siepen's Metal Rhythm lesson. I was wondering if I could get opinions on which of these two amp models with GR3 sounds, "better." Please forgive the playing. They are the same take with different amp modeling applied. Any opinions are greatly appreciated. I loved Marshal amp sample but imo it was lacking of highs, not mids.
Tom, what kind of guitar you were using, which pickup, bridge? If bridge then try to boost presence a little and eventually mids, you're missing only bit of attack and there was plenty of low end. -------------------- Youtube

I really didn't like the marshal sound at all, the first one was better in my opinion but still not quite there but that could just be my fussyness on guitar tone

I found out that Guitar Rig sounds much better when you turn of(bypass) the cabinet in Guitar Rig and add another speaker plugin in the FX CHain of your DAW.

I do not see what you are using to model this anywhere, I am assuming it is some sort of POD? Read above, he's been using GR3. Last time Muris told me to do something, it was to jump off a bridge.... Lucky it was not very tall. What was that?? -------------------- Youtube

Read above, he's been using GR3. What was that?? It means I pretty much do and act as you say. *Bowing* Ah, I did not know what a GR3 was... |

I kind of have a preference for the Ubersonic.
Both sound good to me though, but that would be my pick. :-) -------------------- www.youtube.com/Wallimann

I also prefer the Ubersonic, though I have to see your playing with the marshall sounds a bit tighter, I am not sure though if it is the sound or just the take

Marshall sounds tighter but lighter
Try to EQ the Marshall a bit, put EQ after amp and add some top end, lower down hi mids just a bit, and increase low end juuuuust a bit. Also experiment with other cabs before EQing, you might find a better match. -------------------- - Ivan's Video Chat Lesson Notes HERE
