My advice would also be to include quite a few of The Beatles tunes. I think that evergreen stuff works great for this occasion. Arrangements with both rhythm and melody played on acoustic would be great with artists like : B.E. King, Beatles, Rolling Stones, Elvis, Richie Valens, Fats Domino, Louis Armstrong, The Platters, The Penguins, Del Shannon etc. What works with Beatles tunes is they have beautiful vocal melodies and everyone recognizes the songs.
