Hello!
Good to hear about your sister starting out. In that price range I can recommend this bass: http://bass-guitars.musiciansfriend.com/pr...itar?sku=511369 Regarding POD Studio, its a good interface and you can dial in decent bass sounds (not as good as guitar ones)... But its a good option to have (though you need good PC speakers connected)...Generally small bass amp would do the job better I'm sure... But its a question of taste I guess -------------------- For GMC support please email support (at) guitarmasterclass.net

Gennerally I've seen people play cheap instruments (around 100e) on gigs and sounding great - heck I did a major gig with such a cheap instrument once and worked out well (too well regarding expectations). But I agree , for that money you can't get a great bass, but you can get a nice comfortable one (try before buy)!!!
If you look into used market you should be able to find better basses for the same money of course. I wouldn't call buying a 200e new bass senseless at all For only that much money it doesn't make sense to get a new bass, try to look for some used basses that were arround 300-400Euros new and try to get a steal on them used!
