This pedal is a clone of the PRO CO SUPER RAT pedal. It's from joy and only cost $37. It's got a thick, almost fuzzy vibe. Would be great for classic rock and even Doom metal if the distortion knob is cranked. At about half, it's got a great 80s vintage RAT tone.
Whaddya think?

Sounds great to me, good playing always helps a pedal demo wink.gif

Interesting that the filter works like a reversed tone control.

It's not really a 'Tone' control in the traditional sense.
It rolls off (filters) highs while maintaining everything below a certain frequency. So more of a low pass filter really. At least on real Rat that's what it does.
The usual or normal tone control on a distortion pedal tends to boost high mids and highs.

Yup! smile.gif Well Said. It keeps the lows in and trims the top off. This is the "Super Rat" clone so there is that switch to make it even more thick. At full thick, it's almost a fuzz pedal more than a distortion. However, it can also do a very fine job of just being a clean boost with the gain at zero and does the classic 80s rat thing when things are set in the middle with switches off.

The fine folks at joyo asked me to test out this pedal as it's a new one. I hope to do more : )
