I can't wait to see this My local University http://www.gsu.edu Is having a symposium/presentation on "Re-Reading Rammstein". Looking at the cultural importance of this seminal band in the context of "Neue Deutsche Hart"
I'm going to try to video tape this. It's going to be very interesting to see a band like Rammstein put under the academic microscope and analyzed to the nth degree. I"m really glad to see German Music becoming more and more important globally in terms of listenership and in terms of it's impact on culture and now Academia. Here are the Details. In connection with next week's Southeast German Studies Workshop hosted by GSU, two talks will be held at GSU that may be of interest to some of you. "Re-Reading Rammstein*: Neue Deutsche Härte and (Trans)National Identity" by Corinna Kahnke, Duke University Wednesday, Feb. 23, 5:30-7:00pm, in GCB 718 *A note on content: Songs, videos, and performances by the band Rammstein include explicit material (obscenity, violence, nudity, and sexuality). Please attend at your discretion. Should you be interested in the program for the rest of the Southeast German Studies Workshop, which is open to the public, you can access it here: http://www2.gsu.edu/~wwwhis/9017.html |
