Hey folks,
I'm going to be remaining fairly quiet on GMC for the next month or two since my work has to take precedence over everything at the moment. I'm writing my thesis and searching for work at the same time, needless to say I hardly have time to sleep/eat, let alone playing guitar.
That said, I had to do a session in the recording studio last night. The previous week I had practised like a demon before the session and my playing was still all over the place - out of time, bum notes, sloppy sweeps, sweaty palms and migraines (not a good session). This week however I hadn't touched my guitar at all - went to record and got all my parts done within just a few takes. So all I'll say is that if you're really struggling with something - don't worry and feel you'll never get it - taking a break can actually refresh your playing and make it better when you next come to it.
Anyhow, I'm off to get productive and put my guitar away for a while.
I'll see you again folks
Ciao for now wink.gif

Best of luck with the write up Artemus - you're on the home stretch now smile.gif .

See you back on GMC soon.

ps - FWIW, PhDs that make it to write up should be ok. Corrections maybe but usually ok. Tight supervision usually stops the others or shifts them to MPhil before write up wink.gif . Any doubt on the 'should' should ( rolleyes.gif ) be crystal clear from your supervisors' feedback to date.

Thanks. I really appreciate that smile.gif Friends of mine that have their doctorates and are now happily settled in nice new postdoc positions have assured me that they've experienced all the doubts and frustrations and turmoils that I'm going through and have said the same - there's a reason I made it this far. Anyhow, all I can do is knuckle down to it and work as hard as I can.
Hopefully see you all at the end of it. Thanks for all the kind wishes.
